Heat sealing is a part of the manufacturing finishing process requiring a second step in production. These labels are designed to adhere permanently to the carpet backing using heat to seal it in place. Heat Seal labels can be used for manufacturing information, denote color, range and pile or for inventory purposes. The two basic choices on material finish are Semi-Gloss or Satin Fabric.
Sew In labels are part of the manufacturing finishing process, but easier to automate than the heat seal version as they are inserted during the sewing/selvage process. These labels are constructed of a non-tearable synthetic tag material. This is the second most permanent option due to the durability of the label material and does not remove unless purposely cut out. Sew In labels are available in full print or blank for thermal imprinting.
Pressure Sensitive labels offer a more flexible application to the carpet and can be added after the manufacturing finishing process. These labels are constructed as peel and stick with highly aggressive adhesive designed to adhere to the carpet backing. While Paper facestock as are less durable, this is the fastest to apply. Best suited for applications where speed to apply is important. Pressure Sensitive labels are available in full print or blank for thermal imprinting.
